Excited to share that I’m working as a copywriter and teaching creative writing workshops for the important and timely ‘Wales and the World’ project at @SwanseaUni.
I think I wrote this little poem after my trip to Barcelona a couple of years ago... I really hope you are all safe and well 😊❤️
Excerpts from my thoughts on the power of words in 2020: “What we call ‘unprecedented times’ has been the reality for millions of refugees experiencing social exclusion, illness, poverty, and terror. The pandemic has been our call to action, a call for solidarity and unity”.⁣⁣
Birthday weekend with my favourite people ❤️
Today I’m sharing an excerpt from Ta-Nehisi Coates’ book, Between the World and Me, where he speaks about the problematic idea of race itself. I took the liberty of underlining my favourite line 😊⁣
Happy Breath-day to my twin sister. The world may have come to know her today (29 years ago), but I knew and loved her 9 months before that, and, I believe, I have loved her even centuries before that.⁣
A couple of years ago, I started sponsoring a young girl using Child Foundation. Having witnessed firsthand the importance and success of their campaigns to help children in need of financial and educational support in many countries (including Iran, Afghanistan, Indonesia, and Nepal), I chose to donate all the royalties of my poetry book 𝘎𝘰𝘥, 𝘋𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘏𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘌𝘹𝘪𝘴𝘵? to their organisation. ⁣
Been packing my things for the big move and found this scribbled in one of my notebooks. I wrote it 14 months ago about my favourite person 🤗💕⁣⁣
Thank you to James P Graham for sending me this beautiful exhibition catalogue of ‘Desacration’. You should’ve seen the smile on my face when I saw my poem alongside photos of his intricate paper sculptures.⁣
