LOVERS OF LOVE
“I see them
and they see me
but the lovers —
we recognise one another:
there is light in our eyes.”Kamand Kojouri
“I see them
and they see me
but the lovers —
we recognise one another:
there is light in our eyes.”Kamand Kojouri
“Let us remember to
always rediscover one another
because we are
forever changing.”Kamand Kojouri
“I am going to build a fortress of books.
Will you come inside and live with me?”Kamand Kojouri
Waiting for you
is as delightful as
waiting for sunset.Kamand Kojouri
“Love, they said, burns you
and builds you.
But with you,
there’s no ash.
Just light.”Kamand Kojouri
“All I need to do
is place my pen against paper
and your love
writes for me.”Kamand Kojouri
“I came to
pen another poem for you,
but even every unwritten poem
is you.”Kamand Kojouri
“I was mistaken
when I said you
live in my heart.
How absurd I was
when you live in my
fingertips so that everything
I touch is you. How foolish
I was when you live in my toes
so that everywhere I go there’s you.
How senseless of me to say
you live in my heart
when you breathe in my lungs,
walk on my mind, and
drink in my mouth. I came to
pen another poem for you,
but even every unwritten poem
is you.”Kamand Kojouri
“What is life?
Life is living in this moment,
experiencing and experimenting
but experience isn’t life.
Life is reflecting and meditating
but reflection isn’t life.
Life is helping and guiding
but philanthropy isn’t life.
Life is eating and drinking
but food isn’t life.
Life is reading and dancing
but art isn’t life.
Life is kissing and pleasuring
but sex isn’t life.
Life is winning and losing
but competition isn’t life.
Life is loving and caring
but love isn’t life.
Life is birthing and nurturing
but children aren’t life.
Life is letting go and surrendering
but death isn’t life.
Life is all these things
but all these things aren’t life.
Life is
always more.”Kamand Kojouri
“The guilt you felt
when you were smiling
and others were suffering,
the guilt you felt
when you were petty with friends
and impatient with your parents,
when you were rude to your teachers
and didn’t stand up for strangers,
that guilt
is marvellous.
It proves that you are human,
that you want to be better.
Thank this guilt for teaching you,
for making you aware.
And now endeavour to better yourself.
It is a lifelong work to become
the person we want to be.”Kamand Kojouri
